As everyone may have heard that Red Baron Antiques was closed, well thing again. They are having an auction March 28 & 29, 2009. That is such great news!
What is happening to the small business retail antiques market?
I see many mom and pop antique stores closing or scaling back on retail operations. Is it because the latest generation is not interested in Antiques like previous generations? Or could it be the EBay effect? What effect do you think Ebay has had on the retail storefront antique stores?
Many of my clients have closed their retails stores and are selling exclusively online through various outlets. Sales and traffic were so low they could not keep the storefront open.
