Enjoy a good vintage. In the mood for a festive and romantic drink? Try sipping a glass of organic champagne. Nothing will put you in a romantic mood faster than sharing a taste of champagne together. The demand for organic champagne is growing quickly, so there are several good choices available. Try NV Pascal Doquet Premier Cru Rosé with its hints of rose and strawberry. Or NV Albert Mann Crémant d’Alsace which has apple, citrus and floral notes.
Take a walk. Take advantage of the cooler temps to walk hand-in-hand with your sweetie through the tree-lined streets of your neighborhood or park. Walk to the store to pick up those last minute items for Thanksgiving. Stroll to the mailbox to drop off your holiday greeting cards or simply window shop together. In the middle of the hectic holiday season, walking together gives you time to reconnect and share your day. Now that’s romantic.
Light a fire. Turn off the furnace and heat up the old fashioned way... with a fire! What could be more romantic than a cozy blanket stretched out in front of a roaring fire. Take advantage of the romantic glow and snuggle up. If you’re hungry, add some old fashioned popcorn. Using your fireplace will save on energy consumption and when the fire has burned out, you can spread the ash in your garden to help feed your plants over the winter.
Don’t curse the darkness, light a candle. Why not spend an evening gazing into each other’s eyes by candlelight? Have dinner, play a game or just talk to each other. No matter what activity you choose, everyone looks good by candlelight. Candlelight promotes conversation and intimacy. For a super-sexy choice, try 100% soy Candles By Claire. Not only do they melt into massage oil as they burn, but they are also 100% Vegan (not petroleum based) and produce 99% less soot than paraffin candles.
Dine Alfresco. Who says you can’t enjoy a fall picnic. Put on your warmest sweater and carry your meal to the park or the lake. Take in the crisp air and the beauty of fallen leaves while you cuddle your significant other. Picnics are all about anticipation, so enjoy it! You really don’t have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing for a romantic picnic. Grab a loaf of crusty bread and bottle of organic wine. (Find 5 good selections at The Daily Green.) Throw in a few other traditional aphrodisiacs like almonds and figs, if you like. Maybe add a good organic goat cheese with italian herbs from Coon Ridge Farms. And don’t forget something sweet. Perhaps some eco-friendly chocolates from Fat Turkey Chocolate in Austin, Texas. Gobble, gobble!
Sleep under the stars. Grab your sleeping bag and head for the great outdoors. Time to enjoy an unobstructed view of the heavens, and get romantic. I mean, what could be sexier than two people huddled together in one sleeping bag?
Take A Bath...Together. What better way to conserve water and warm up on a cold evening. You’ll be doing your part to help save the environment, and having some fun, too. Spice things up with a bath sachet. Take a small square of linen or cheese cloth. Add a cinnamon stick, a few whole cloves and some orange peels. Tie with a piece of cotton twine and toss in your warm bath water. Let steep while you bathe. Or add a few drop of Nutmeg Essential Oil from Essential Aura Aromatherapy. Volunteer Together. Doing good feels so good, doesn’t it? What could be sexier than doing it together? (Oops, almost made it through the whole article without a pun.) But seriously, all that hard work. All that helping and relying on each other to see a project though. All that feeling good about doing good. Get it? So do some good, together. Volunteer at a local soup kitchen. Delivery gift baskets from your church or work at a pet adoption. But do it together. It’s the romantic thing to do. Now get busy!

This mini solar kits teach children the benefits of solar energy while they create a toy that is both fun to play with andrequires no batteries. The newest member of this popular line is the 6 in 1 Educational Solar Kit, an excellent beginner building kit designed to teach how solar power is used to drive a small motor. Children use the 21 snap together parts (no tools required) to build six different working models including an airboat, windmill, puppy, and two different planes.
The kit costs surprisingly little at around $20. Although the kit relies on solar energy, you can just power the kit using a bright 50 Watt light bulb. It’s bound to keep kids (big and small) amused for a little while.
Where are all the Green men?!?This has been my question for quite a few years now.I know they’re out there, so I’m going to try to find them!
I’ve learned a lot about organic food, organic farming, sustainability, energy efficiency, and going green. This has been my passion for the last 8 years, and I have continuously expanded my knowledge on these green topics.Since I’ve made this such a big part of my life, I want to find a mate who shares at least some of these same ideals and values. As all the single people will be able to tell you, it’s tough to find a good guy out there. And then when you add a guy’s “eco-friendliness” to the equation, it’s pretty near impossible! That’s when I came up with the idea of eco-dating: a gathering where single, like-minded individuals can get together to see if there is a green spark or two.
I envision greenies gathering together to socialize, maybe talking about the new “Green” project they’re going to install in their home or sharing the reasons they decided to go green. It’s a warm, comfortable environment where single people try to find others in the same situation as themselves: single and looking for their green soul mate. And if green friendships come about because of eco-dating, that’s just an added bonus!
Some of the troubles I’ve had with meeting green men:
·Finding out where these guys hang out.I hope I don’t have to drive all the way up to the Whole Foods in Philly just to meet a green guy!
·A man may be “green”, but there’s no easy way to identify them. It’s not like they have “GREEN” tattooed on their foreheads! If only….
·I see a guy wearing a shirt that has a “green” statement (i.e. Don’t be trashy.. Recycle), but he’s holding hands with his girlfriend.
I also think there is a misconception about people who want to “save the planet”.We’re not all stereotypical hippies who don’t shower and smoke who knows what for fun :)We’re just normal people who want to make a conscious effort to lessen our impact on the planet.I really think there is a need for a green singles community out there, and I am going to make it happen.
The Kent Conservation District invites you to join them for a kick-up-your-heels night of fun from 6 p.m. to midnight, Friday evening, Oct. 2, for its 12th Annual Barn Dance Fundraiser in the Dover Building at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington.
Activities include a down home barbecue pork and chicken dinner, a benefit auction -both live and silent - and dancing to music played by Just Kidding Around Entertainment. Tickets remain the same low price as last year - only $15 per person or $25 per couple. Reserved tables for eight are again available for only $110 (one name – one check).
The objective of the Barn Dance is to raise funds to support the Delaware Envirothon: a competitive problem-solving, natural resource challenge for high school students. The goals of the Delaware Envirothon are to test the environmental knowledge of high school students and to cultivate within the students a desire to learn more about their natural world. The students compete in the following categories: soils/land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, and a current environmental issue.
The experience gained through the competition will prepare individual students and teams to make sound conservation decisions. The 2009 Delaware champions from Wilmington Charter School recently returned from the North American competition in which they placed fourth out of 45 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces.
A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased by mail or in person at the Kent Conservation District located at 800 Bay Road, Suite 2, Dover. Last year’s event was sold out, so hurry in to purchase your tickets today! For more information, please call the District at 302-741-2600 ext. 3.

Spray the skillet with cooking spray.Place first tortilla flat in the pan.Top with your cheese and other chopped items—only about 1 tablespoon of each topping.Place another tortilla over the top.
Turn after about 4 minutes or until golden.Brown the other side until cheese is melted.
Serve immediately with sour cream, guacamole or salsa of your choice.

Gabby Green reporting from the Home Grown Café in Newark, Delaware:
Delaware Today, Out and About and the News Journal were as excited as Green Drinks attendees as Home Grown provided their best healthy fare, fun and funky atmosphere. Newark Council member Paul Pomeroy and many friends of the Newark community celebrated the recent renovations at Home Grown.
Many thanks to manager Lesli Felix for the accommodating the many that continued to come in during an already busy weeknight.
Home Grown's menu and mix delighted the hungry and thirsty while the buzz of the new and go-green administration gave all in attendance much to look forward to in 2009. As always, a mix of green business professionals, students, educators and curious find themselves in conversation with like- minded people with topics ranging from building techniques, business development, energy savings and green financing.
Yes, the rumors of yet another Green Expo coming to Delaware are true. Stay tuned and we will see you at the next Greenville Green Drinks - Green Business Networking being hosted by Buckley’s on Tuesday, December, 9th.
