Here is my latest video update. Please feel free to give us your snow totals, as they come in. Some of you had a minor snow accumulation from Sunday morning. Here's your chance to give us that amount, too.
Enjoy, but stay safe. This storm should begin in the Philly Metro around dinnertime 4 to 7 PM.
Heaviest snow rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour may fall between 9 PM and 2 AM Monday. Winds gusting to 35 to 45 mph will create POOR VISIBILITY and BLOWING and DRIFTING on Monday morning. Temperatures will be near 31 degrees at midnight, dropping into the 20s all day. Wind chills should range from 5 to 15 degrees on Monday as well.
Tonight, a mix of rain, sleet and snow will be coming up from the South. A trace to 0.5 inches of accumulation, I think, is possible. In the big picture, this is no big deal.
If you wait long enough, it will come. I know that is not the quote from the Field of Dreams movie, but it is close enough. Snow lovers have been patient. That is for sure.
Look for a significant snow storm to affect the Delaware Valley late Sunday into Monday morning. Flurries and snow showers could even linger into Monday afternoon.
7 to 12 + inches of snow is what I am expecting for Philly Metro, Trenton, Wilmington and Points North and West (Allentown & Reading may only receive 7 inches). If Philly got 15 inches, it would not surprise me.
Further to the south and east, (Dover to Millville to Wrightstown to Atlantic City), I think will pick up 12 to 17 + inches of snow. If some areas in South Jersey picked up 20 inches, it would not surprise me.
The key here is to prepare now. If you need a shovel, go buy one. If you need supplies, go get them. This storm has the potential of beating out the February 2006 storm, when Philly received a foot of snow.
Good news. This snow will be out of here by late Monday and the clean-up can begin.
TONIGHT: Clouds thicken, rain, sleet, snow mix develops from the South.
Trace to 0.5 inches.
Lows: 25 to 30 degrees from suburb to city.
Winds: NE 5 - 15 mph, gusts to 25 mph.
SUNDAY: Mix ends early. Otherwise, gray skies. Snow returns at night.
High: 37 to 41 degrees from suburb to city.
Winds: NNE 5 - 15 mph, gusts to 20 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Snow storm begins around 7 PM from the South.
MONDAY: 7 to 12 inches + for Philly and N.W. suburbs. 12 to 17"+ Dover & South Jersey (Wrightstown, Millville, Atlantic City)
Heavy snow, windy, gusts around 30 mph
Midnight high around 31 degrees and falling.
Temperatures in the 20s by day, dropping to the lower to mid teens by Tuesday morning.
TUESDAY: Cold sun.
High around 28 degrees

Or perhaps I should have called this blog ‘follow the bouncing Beck ball to the pot of pundit gold’
It is obvious that the smear campaign to pull advertisers from Beck’s show is having the opposite effect, just as it did with similar smear campaigns against Rush Limbaugh, who ended up signing a 400 million dollar contract after these sort of campaigns were launched against him. Not only are the monies of these advertisers that pulled out of Beck’s show still going into the Fox News coifers, but, Beck’s ratings are soaring….
Thursday night, "Glenn Beck" again won the A25-54 demographic on the TVNewser scoreboard with 762K. The show also had the second highest number of Total Viewers with 2.544M, trailing only last night's "O'Reilly Factor" (2.896M Total Viewers). Strong numbers for a show that's on at 5pm on the east coast. Here are some other notes from our scoreboard from the second day of Kennedy coverage:

The above graph shows that the latest cable news talk show ratings are what is known in sports lingo as ‘a blow out’. Do you really think that these companies are going to pull their advertising dollars away from a network that is literally blowing the competition out of the water? No way! They will simply shift them to another time slot.
I appears that the American people have a much better understanding of the meaning of the phrase ‘freedom of speech’ than some groups such as ‘color of change’, who is apparently spearheading this campaign against Beck. There are also some questions concerning ‘color of change’, who made a feeble attempt to cover up the fact that Barrack Obama’s ‘Green jobs czar’, Van Jones, was once a founding board member of the group. Some describe ’color of change’ as a ‘radical America hating group’. More on that connection here:
http://spectator.org/blog/2009/08/12/communist-green-jobs-czars-gro
When you cut away all of the crap, isn’t what Beck is doing nothing more than exercising his right to freedom of speech? Isn’t being tolerant of others views a critical component of living in a diverse country which champions freedom of speech? Whether you approve of those views or not?
More Irony?....
From: Big Hollywood:
“The irony here is that a “race based pressure group” is attacking someone who said he is against what he suspects is racism in Obama’s agenda. In other words, a race based group is attacking someone speaking out against racism. Who’s the racist here?”
http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/jhudnall/2009/08/28/beck-derangement-syndrome/#more-212806
Personally, I find pundits like Beck, Limbaugh, Olberman, Matthews and Maddow to be a bit over the top, but, I would never support any effort to try and squelch their right to voice their opinion.
One more thing, here is a link to the ‘color for change’ petition to silence Beck…
Why does ‘change have to have a color?
Go ahead! Sign it!! Cast you’re cup of fuel onto the Beck fire, and, cast you’re vote against freedom of speech.

What happens if Brian Dawkins signs with the Broncos, while the Eagles have $40 million in unspent salary cap money?
It won't be pretty in Philadelphia on a day when Correll Buckhalter, L.J. Smith and Sean Considine jumped ship and Jon Runyan was put out to pasture.
What do the Eagles gain: Stacy Andrews and Hank Baskett?
Our question to you: Do the Eagles really want to win a Super Bowl, or are they more concerned about saving a few bucks?
Admins in Charge of Censorship?? Hellooo....
I have posted a blog twice today and the first was rejected after several hours. Perhaps beacuse in the title I use a biblical term referring to woman of ill repute. The word is a Wh*r*...as in "Attention Whoo-ahH"
It was rejected, so I posted the same blog again without that word in the title. I re-read the TOS of what is allowed and what is not just to be sure. There are no offensive words, but perhaps the intent of the blog is to pointout offensive actions of another blogger.
It's my personal opinion that the pain in the a** blogger is hijacking as many threads as possible instead of starting their own.
Was my opinion rejected? The second blog was up for several hours and had several responses. Now it is "pending" by some admin for some reason.
Is it the practice of this Newtwork to censor opinions other than their own? Or is this some employee doing the censoring on their own?
Whom would I contact to investigate this further......
An emotional Mayor Michael Nutter made another plea for Philadelphia to have the power to legislate its own gun control laws Friday night, after the murder of Officer John Pawlowski.
But the courts have sided with the state as the proper holder of such rights.
What do you think?
Does anyone know where I can get a free stencil of the Phillies logo to carve on a pupmpkin?
While doing a search, I happened to notice that the NY Yankees website has once available on their website. I seems to me that the Phillies official website should have one too.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Leave your tribute to the 6 fallen Philadelphia police officers since October 2007 here.
We will read selected comments on Fox 29 News.
Here we go again, former Eagle, former 49er and now former Cowboy Terrell Owens is looking for a new team this morning. Reports out of Dallas say the Cowboys have released Owens.
I don't think this will come as any surprise to anyone, not even TO. Owens had a rocky relationship with the Cowboys--he even had relationship problems with his quarterback Tony Romo, and reports say he almost got into a fist fight with tight end Jason Witten in December.
So, which team will be the next to take a chance and sign Owens? He comes with a lot of baggage, but you know there's at least one team that will take the chance. I would love to hear your thoughts on the latest TO drama and where you see him playing next season. Also, no word yet if TO is doing sit-ups in his Dallas driveway right now.
The Philadelphia Zoo is doing an adults-only tour this weekend that features everthing you want to know about the birds and bees - if you have $150 per couple.
Obviously, Zoo officials haven't "herd" about the Internet yet, but when you fork over the 150 big ones, you get brunch, Champagne and a benind the scenes tour about animal mating habits.
The big question is: "what is on the special tour?" Read this little blurb for the press:
"Maybe you were curious about what it takes for elephants to mate, or which animal thinks toe nibbling is great foreplay? What better way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend than to bring your valentine to America’s first zoo and have some of these questions answered! Once here you can take an “up-close-and-personal tour” of the Zoo and learn the fascinating mating behaviors of everything from tigers to tortoises. Enjoy a delicious brunch and champagne toast between these “close encounters” with the Zoo’s animal celebrities. Be sure to wear your walking shoes and be ready not to be shy!"
So is this just a cute idea or the Zoo exploiting animals to make $150?
Please leave your opinions below!

What’s in a Blessing?
If you are a patriot, and love this great nation, and all that it stands for; you have most likely without a doubt used the Phrase “God Bless America” many times throughout your life, or perhaps proudly raised your voice as you joined in with others at the opening of a sports event; singing God Bless America. But what does the phrase or song mean? Have you ever given it any serious thought?
Many thoughts may come to mind, various causes, goals, and freedoms, Americans have proudly fought for, strived to obtain, and died for; for over two hundred and thirty three years. No doubt any patriotic American Christian can come up with a vast list of reasons god should bless America. We are a Christian people and nation; and built this country on Christian and biblical principles or at least tried to. And it appears god has looked down upon us with favor, as never in the history of mankind has such a young nation become so great and accomplished so much and fought so hard for the common man’s rights to equality, and justice than did us Americans.
But do all these reasons justify us in asking our creator to bestow upon us and shower us with his favor and grace? Many would argue yes we deserve his blessing. And many would oppose and prefer the All Mighty curse and destroy this nation. And then of course there are those who deny the very existence of god and for that reason alone want the word god or any reference or mention of him removed from all documents, public buildings, money, our schools etc. they want a god free society and government.
In any event there are many schools of thought, and opinions about America through out the world. So let’s take a closer look at exactly what we are asking of our Creator when we say God Bless America.
We first have to examine what exactly is a blessing. And then evaluate whether or not we worthy of our creator bestowing his blessing upon us. And finally we must decide if we really want the Almighty Creators blessing. At face value it appears to be a no brainer; sure, who in their right mind wouldn’t want God’s blessing.
What exactly does the word bless mean? It occurs and is used many times as a translation in our bible from the original Hebrew and or Greek scriptures via into our modern English version of the bible.
Most people would say in general terms it means to wish upon someone good future, health, happiness, or good things of any kind from god….
OK… fair enough; so when we say “God Bless America” we are wishing or asking the Almighty for good things for America.
But let’s dig a little deeper.
Any random dictionary might say any or all of the following;
1. To consecrate; To make holy by religious rite; sanctify.
2. To make the sign of the cross over so as to sanctify.
3. To invoke divine favor upon.
4. To honor as holy; glorify: Bless the Lord.
5. To confer well-being or prosperity on.
6. To endow, as with talent.
Now lets have a little history lesson.
The word bless occurs in no other language other than in our English, That’s right folks; we made this word up, we created this word.
The irony of the English language is that we seem to be under the impression that we can just make up words and attach meanings to them to convey the same meanings of words from other languages or ancient languages, that existed in the past, but that are in reality two completely different things and have completely different meanings.
The word bless originates from the old English and the originally meaning meant; to mark with, or sprinkle with blood.
Online Etymology Dictionary states…
O.E. bletsian, bledsian, Northumbrian bloedsian "to consecrate, make holy," from P.Gmc. *blothisojan "mark with blood," from *blotham "blood" (see blood). Originally a blood sprinkling on pagan altars. This word was chosen in O.E. bibles to translate L. benedicere and Gk. eulogein, both of which have a ground sense of "to speak well of, to praise," but were used in Scripture to translate Heb. brk "to bend (the knee), worship, praise, invoke blessings." Meaning shifted in late O.E. toward "to confer happiness, well-being," by resemblance to unrelated bliss. No cognates in other languages.
It was around the year one thousand, that the meaning shifted, from; to mark with, or to sprinkle with blood; to, "to confer happiness, or well-being".
But note where it says (Originally a blood sprinkling on pagan altars ;)
Also take notice of (This word was chosen in O.E. bibles to translate L. benedicere and Gk. eulogein, both of which have a ground sense of "to speak well of, to praise,")
OK so we have a similar word from the Greek that means to "to speak well of”, or “to praise,"
Now let’s consider the Hebrew meaning and its use in the Old Testament.
As noted in the above explanation of its origin and definition from the Online Etymology Dictionary; the Hebrew word “brk” or “barak” means a position of posture; to bend one’s knee in worship and praise to God,
In other words; to adore on bended knee; to worship on bended knee; praising god, halleluiah; boasting and lifting up the name of the lord, if used in its proper context.
It was a lowering or humbling of ones self both in posture and most probably in spirit, in order to adore, worship, praise, and to give honor to the Almighty Himself.
Because of its origin and original meaning it is, and should be a constant, and should not, and does not change, regardless of circumstances or the language and its form of use.
OK, so now we have an understanding of the history and of the background of the word bless…
Now moving on…
We can justify and rationalize the phrase God Bless America in any way we want because of our English language. But now that you know the truth about what you are asking from god “that he bow and humble himself before us, that he praise and honor us, that he worship us as a nation; can anyone that truly wishes to please the almighty and live a godly life ever even consider asking such a thing or sing such a song.
Is this not a form of blasphemy in itself? Is it not the ultimate and only unforgivable sin; Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? Is it not an abomination to the lord?
If you have followed me this far in the reading I would imagine you are in one of if not more than a few states of mind at this moment. You may shocked in disbelief, or enlightened at your new found knowledge and wisdom, or enraged at what may sound like a far left loony attack on America, or you may just be humored by what I have just written and passively rolling your eyes and thinking ooo brother another religious nut case just popped up on the radar.
However; regardless of what you think of this piece and the example phrase I used (God Bless America) remember also that the word bless is used in many other phrases. And used daily by millions of people all over the world (including the Pope and priests)… bless you my son, (a priest says, every time you confess a sin to a priest in the confession booth) can you imagine if after every sin confessed, he were throwing blood on you through the screen? Gives the phrase a whole new eerie realm huh? Well at least in as far as the true English meaning. God bless you, bless his/ her heart, god bless her/his soul, and the list goes on and on.
So just keep in mind that next time you bless someone or request a blessing on someone or yourself what you are really truly asking for (ya might want to make sure you are wearing a rain coat!!!)
If you can still say that in good conscience; after reading this? Then;
God Ble… uhhh…
ummm …
Never mind…
Good luck to you my friend…
And may god have mercy on US as a nation
And most importantly…
AMERICA BLESS GOD
