    there are many considerations that go into selection. i began with a very lengthy list, one that i began months ago.
    
    start with having a good sounding band, learning how to play well, and putting out a good product. networking (so people have actually heard of you!), playing shows locally and getting on my radar will only do your band good for future Boston Emissions and WBCN events.

    initial eligibility is getting played by me on Boston Emissions.

    But anyways we listened and liked most if not all the bands selected. Anngelle and wbcn never promised or said anyone would be picked simply for getting huge hits, or posting or being on the board. She did clearly write the requirements and doesn't mean those bands who weren't picked this year won't get in possibly next year. Besides we are still drummerless or else! :)

    i often get discs that are burned but don't play on my various players.

    i ask that disc be in a marked jewel case with band name on spine so i can find it in my piles more easily. if it takes me a while to find it, i have to move on

    make track listings visible, mark what's clean (no swears)

    prepare something that you want to represent your band. it's okay to wait until you have a disc pressed and packaged

    band one sheet bio is preferrable as i don't have room for lots of p

    get to know other bands that play out so you can share bills or get on good opening slots

    the rock 'n' roll social is a great way to meet others in the scene, get your music in the
    hands of djs and more
