  • The Herb Pot

    • From: sammydarlo
    • Description:
There once was a herb pot

      Small and sweet

      Used to grow herbs

To mix with the food that you eat

      Until one fateful day

      Catastrophe came calling

      The cute little herb pot

      Found itself falling, falling

Hitting the ground with a dreadful crash

A terrible fate, A terrible smash,

Poor little herbpot all broken and cracked,

Her owner upset, woeful and sad,

      She shrieked for her husband

'Mr Fix It' she called him,

And showed him the cause of her

      Stern Consternation

      Fear not said he

      I know just the thing,

      A smile to your face

      Some strong glue will bring

With a dab of glue here

      And another over there

He set about doing a serious repair

      An hour or two later

      She heard him shout

      And without much ado

Went to see what it was about

      She saw him sat smiling

      His face full of glee

      Her eyes descended

To what he held safe on his knee

My Herb pot My Herb pot

      She excitedly yelled

      Glued back together

      So wonderfully held

      And so it was

      The very next day,

      New Herb seeds were planted

      Baby herbs on the way

      To brighten your food

      In such a various way.

  • Do you feel reality shows have

    • From: celia
    • Description:

      Hi Jenny,

I haven't watched this jungle obscenity since the first series because it was so pointless, and the cruelty involved shocked me.

I don't feel sorry for the 'celebrities' because if they didn't know what they were getting themselves into when they entered the programme, they must have been living on the moon. They are only doing it to increase their public profile and hence their income.

The celebrities can say no before they sign a contract, and even once there. The animals ca

    • From: Jenny
    • Description:

My family like to watch 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' - and although I don't approve of the show, I still find myself watching it. The television has a magnetic effect.

There is a lot of cruelty to animals on the show. And the celebrities are treated very badly - almost like animals in a zoo for our entertainment. And even worse - the public seem to join in with the cruelty.

For three evenings running Katie Price has been asked to endure horrendous tasks - she's crying, shaking, and ge

  • Ant killer for Celia

    • From: ivan
    • Description:
      Difficulty: Moderately Easy
      Instructions

      Things You'll Need:

      • Borax or boric acid
      • Glass jar with tight-fitting lid
      • Bottle caps
      • Honey
      • Sugar

Making and Setting Borax Ant Bait Traps Indoors

      1. Step 1

Spoon some borax into bottle caps, filling them about halfway.

      2. Step 2

Set the baits wherever you've seen ants in your home, particularly bathrooms, the kitchen and the laundry area. Excellent locations include inside kitchen cabinets where greases or sweets are kept, under all of your sinks and appliances, by the kitchen trash receptacle, near doorways and vents leading outside, or anywhere that moisture is present or collects.

      3. Step 3

Check the borax ant baits daily to see if they need to be refilled.

Making Borax Bait for Killing Outdoor Ants

      4. Step 1

Make environmentally friendly bait for killing ants outside of your home by combining ¼ cup honey with ¼ cup sugar in a heat-resistant glass jar.

      5. Step 2

Microwave the mixture for a minute on high, then stir. Microwave again just enough to dissolve the sugar. Stir well.

      6. Step 3

Add ¼ cup borax by spoonfuls, stirring well after each addition. Allow the bait mixture to cool to room temperature.

      7. Step 4

Pour 1 or 2 tbsp. of the sweet bait onto the ant mound. The sugar and honey will attract the ants to the bait, and the borax will kill them. The sugar and honey form a heavy liquid that the wind can't blow away, which is critical to the success of baits placed outdoors.

      8. Step 5

Cap the jar tightly. Store it at room temperature for to 2 to 3 weeks

It's nice to see a bit of colour in the garden. Smile

Do any other readers have pictures of flowers growing in their gardens?

  • Follow My Heart

    • From: john
    • Description:

Why oh why, does everyone tell me to follow my heart,

When at the end of Lifes journey, we have to part.

I do things right, I do things wrong,

And even sometimes, I was right all along.

So I follow my heart, as best I can,

Maybe just to prove that I am a man.

But I do try to be fair from my heart,

But there is always someone, who wants to tear me apart.

Why is life so difficult and why is life so cruel,

Just to look at life itself, it looks like a beautiful jewel.

But inside a very different picture, can be seen,

There are a lot of people who are nasty and mean.

So now I ask you, what more can I do,

I have have not lied or cheated this is true.

So why does every tell me, to follow my heart,

It is all I have done anyway, right from the start.
