I recieved my new steel log today. Looking forward to starting my training with it, seeing how that is my worst event. Deadlifts are going good this week, still lower than I like but I am working on it. My neighbors are still trying to adjust to my weird training. Just yesterday I was doing my rock carry around the yard and my neighbor stopped me and asked if I needed help moving my stone. HAHA. i politely explained to him that I was just training. I could see it in his face that he was puzzled but I just laughed and continued.
I am just getting back to training after several weeks off due to sickness ( diabetes) and some minor injuries. I am training like a madman now, trying to be ready for my first contest of 2009 which is on May 2. I don't know if I will be ready or not but I am going to try.

Maybe i should check into the nearest dance studio!
Thanks to work this week i haven't been able to train as much as i would like to. Once christmas rolls around, i'll be doing more strength training since competition is my ultimate goal.
11/10/08- Standing press + push press: 5-5-5 3-3; 5min of "cindy"
loads: 135-145-145(4) Still a lot of shoulder pain due to injury; push-press 145-165 way too easy should have done more heavier set
For cindy: 5 Pullups- 10 pushups- 15 airsquats- 5 rds as rx'd
11/11/08- As many rounds as possible in 20min of:
400m run
135lb deadlift (rx'd was half body weight)
10 box jumps
Did almost 5 rounds in 15 min but fell onto my shin and smashed it on the box. Stopped because of the enourmous swelling.
11/14/08- Back squat 5x5, will post loads later, i haven't done back squats in a while and will be learning mark ripptoe's squats from his training books.
Took 10th at nationals this year
Strongmen - It was pointed out on the message board that blogs have taken the place of the training journals on the old site. That was a great bit of advice. See Jeremy Slusher's blog to see how he's doing this now.

Strongmen/Strongwomen,
How cool is this? Want to embed a YouTube video into a Blog? Click on the "Insert or Upload Media" button in the lower right corner of the window while creating your posts. Then click on the "External Media" tab and browse for your favorite video. When you find it, click on the "Insert" button. It's that easy.
Below I embedded a video I uploaded, after logging into my MSS account. This way I can embed videos & photos I have uploaded as a member of MSS. Click on the "Insert or Upload Media" button in the lower right corner of the window while creating your posts. Then select either a photo or video from your list(s) on the appropriate tabs. If you know a little HTML....you can pretty up the text a little more.
MSS Members,
If you go to the community page......then to my media.....then to my widgets.....you will see a very quick and easy way to share your MustSeeStrongman videos, photos, blogs, etc. on other sites such as MySpace or your own personal web sites. It's easy to do. Give it a shot and share your stuff all over the Internet.

How Can I Promote My Club?
Answer: You can request a Group be created by the MSS Admin. Go to the Groups link and Click on Request a Group . This way members of MSS can join your Club's Group and when they upload Photos or Videos, select the Group, and those files will be associated with your Group. You can then request a Custom Feed be created so you may copy and paste a Video Player or Photo Slideshow onto your web site/page.
For more info on this see the WOW!!! link.
Where's the News, State Reports, & Articles?
Answer: Gone! Now everybody can use the many methods on the MSS web site to keep up to date or inform other strongmen/strongwomen of the latest news and so on.
Where's the Strongman Store?
Answer: Gone! We are FREE now and do not sell anything at this time. However....if there is enough interest in the future, we may consider selling some merchandise online again.
Where's the Forum?
Answer: The old forum is gone. We hope you enjoy the new Message Boards along with all the bells & whistles it comes with.
Ok...so where's your old stuff?
Answer: We decided rather than adding to the old site (primarily the strongman & club profiles ), that we needed to replace them . The new way is just quite simply, much better & faster, & requires less maintenance. You can also delete your old photos or videos if you choose. And integrating the old with the new would have taken too long....already took long enough.
The new way of uploading photos/videos is more enhanced, such as uploading multiple files simultaneously and no need for waiting for approvals .
Sorry for the inconvenience,
MSS
So you may have been thinking... Where in the world has MSS been? Well, we knew we had to make some changes to the site, but didn't want to rush into it. We wanted to be sure that once we made the changes....that's it! So, here we are...and here are some of the improvements for you:
We are sure you will enjoy the new features and ease of use on the web site. We appologize for any inconveniences you experience in the transition. Unfortunately, you will need to sign-up for a new membership with our new system. It will be much quicker and require less maintenance on ours and your part however.
Thanks Again for Your Patience!
