• NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!

    Life's process occurs something like this . . .

    A master sculptor may strike a block of marble

    a hundred times before anything noticeable happens.

    Yet the hundred-and-first blow creates a perfect break in the stone.
    
    

    What caused the break?

    Was it the last blow or the hundred that went before?

    So it is with personal growth.

    We may see no appreciable gain made by a long series

    of consistent, determined efforts,

    And then, it happens.

     

    In a moment, a corner is turned,
    a truth revealed,

    a bad habit loses its grip.

    But, of course it didn't happen suddenly,

    and not a single journey or trip.

     

    The gain was made one blow, one step at a time,
    by all the seeminly ineffective,

    probably forgotten efforts that preceded the turn around.

    One must instill faith in the process of growth
    as entertainers,
    as singers,
    as musicians,
    as songwriters
    or any other profession you elect to do.
    

    And in the process,

    one must no longer expect a medal for each lap run.
    Just keep on chugging,
    and NEVER GIVE UP!

    Entertainers and recording artists, J.C. High Eagle and Rene Sims, had a very successful performance starring at the International Food & Music Festival. The festival event was held at the Myriad Gardens Center, downtown Oklahoma City on October 9th. They will be peforming their next venue as duet partners for Sheplers Western Wear at their huge store location in Oklahoma City on October 24th for a 2-hour performance.

    (Nashville, TN - Oct 7, 2009) – With the Holiday Season just around the corner, Jeff Cook, a two-time GRAMMY winner and multi-platinum selling founding member of Country Music powerhouse Alabama, is pulling out all the stops with the upcoming release of his first ever solo Christmas album, Christmas Joy.  On Tuesday, November 3, the album will be available for digital download via i-Tunes, Amazon.com, and Cook's website, www.jeffcook-agb.com. 
    The ten track album will feature several tried-and-true classic Holiday hits including “Run, Run Rudolph” and “Away In A Manger” as well as original Alabama material rerecorded by Cook.  Legendary Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famers The Ventures join Cook, a Country Music Hall of Famer himself, on the project’s title cut, “Christmas Joy.”  Cook also brings in his better half, Mrs. Lisa Cook, for lead vocals on several songs.
    “This is my first solo Christmas project and I have tried to select varied and not too overplayed Christmas songs" notes Cook. "Enjoy...  Merry Christmas!”
     

    Since Alabama’s retirement from the road in 2004, Cook hasn’t slowed down a bit. Earlier this year, he and his Allstar Goodtime Band released Ashes Won’t Burn, much to the delight of ever hungry Alabama fans. Cook, along with his band, continues to hit the road, pleasing show goers with what he calls ‘Country, Soul and Rock n’ Roll’ and of course the Alabama hits that transformed Cook and his bandmates into what some call ‘The Beatles of Country Music.’

     

    Jeff Cook and Alabama have a career that to date has resulted in 21 gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums and more than 78 million records sold. The band garnered 42 #1 Hits and were named the RIAA’s “Recording Group Of The Century.” In 2005, Alabama was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and in 2001 Cook was named “Guitarist of the Year” by the Gibson Guitar Company.

    Does this face look familiar? Maybe you've seen Jon on NBC's "Last Comic Standing", Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" or the half-hour special "Comedy Central Presents: Jon Reep". Maybe you've seen him on TBS's "Pit Stop Comedy", NBC's "Late Friday", or the ABC Sitcom "Rodney" as Officer Gerald Bob the dim-witted cop. If not then you probably know Jon from Dodge's popular ad campaign as the "Hemi guy".

    Jon is known to millions as the redheaded hillbilly in the Dodge Ram commercials who leans out of a beat-up car and utters the now famous line: "That thing gotta Hemi?"

    Born in Hickory, NC, Jon moved to Raleigh to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater at North Carolina State University. In 2000 Jon was invited to perform at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, Canada and has since been invited back to perform in the "Best of the Fest" and a "Gala" show. Soon after he moved to Los Angeles to further his career as an actor and a stand-up.

    Jon is one of the hardest working comics in America, selling out venues and getting standing ovations in clubs and theaters across the country. His show is supersonic energy filled with non-stop characters, super clever writing, and, of course, the one talent that separates Jon from all other comedians in the world: He's the best redneck dancer since Elvis.

    (Nashville, TN) – Last night, country music legend and world renowned musician Merle Haggard, welcomed Alabama lead guitarist Jeff Cook to join he and his band on the Ryman Auditorium stage.
     
    Cook jammed with Haggard and The Strangers for a rockin’ hour and a half set that drew out some of country music’s biggest names including Vince Gill, Jamey Johnson, Bobby Bare, Kellie Pickler and Joe Nichols.
     
    “Joining ‘The Hag’ and his band onstage at the ‘Mother Church of Country Music’ was a real honor,” notes Cook.  “I haven’t ‘picked’ like that since Alabama left the road!”
