Calling all Barrow Yarn-Enthusiasts! Join us every Tuesday night from 7 to 9pm at Tuzzy Library for knitting, crochet, needlework, and great conversations! You may even find some inspiration for your next project!
Please join us for children's story hours at Tuzzy Library! Storytime is a great way to prepare your kids for school, meet new friends, and introduce your kids to valuable pre-reading skills. Many parents worry that their kids will not sit still or pay attention. Please don't let that keep you away! Sitting still for stories and following along with the group are skills that take practice. Kids that have a hard time adjusting during the first few weeks soon grow to love this special time of interaction between themselves, their parents, and their new friends.
Beyond just reading books together, storytime incorporates songs, rhymes, and games that are specifically designed to develop such pre-reading skills as increased vocabulary, phonological awareness, and narrative skills. Please join us we venture into the wonderful world of books and reading together!
Preschool Storytime (Ages 2 to 5): Every Saturday at 10am
Baby Storytime (Ages 0 to 2): Every Saturday at 11am

What are our Goals?
The project provides the people of the North Slope with the shared tools to develop resources across the 1,000 of square miles of frozen tundra.
Tuzzy Library has develop a website that includes moderated rooms, for discussion of critical community issues as well as provide blogs, garage sale, photographs, videos, audio/sound files and a community calendar. Free for all Alaskans/ North Slope residence.

Besides being a non-profit organization we want our site to fit your needs. Weather its stylistic or to help connect with other residence on the North Slope.

Attention Child Care Providers! Interested in adding a little variety to your week? Beginning in January Tuzzy Library will be making housecalls! Storytime is a wonderful opportunity for kids to gain valuable listening and reading skills, but sometimes it's hard to get all those kids bundled up and ready to go out. If you are interested in bringing a 30-minute session of stories, songs, rhymes and more to your home, please contact Sara at the library. Groups of 4 or more only, please.
