THE VERTICAL COMPONENT
CENTRE FOR THE INTERPRETATION OF RIVERS, Interreg. Órbigo,Tera, Esla, Spain
The project is carried out on three levels: in relation to the place, responding to the program and developing the perception of the space. The levels mix and converse and the project emerges from where they cross.
1. In its relationship with the place where it is introduced, the design is outlined following premises such as minimal impact on the surrounding nature and therefore intervening in a semi-natural environment with criteria of passive sustainability (the attitude which we believe is the most efficient and active with regard to the surroundings), with a cultural program and using materials whose ageing process allows the building to converse with the changes in tone, colour and light of the surroundings.

El último proyecto "Centro de Interpretación e Investigación de los Ríos. Tera, Esla y Orbigo / Centre for Interpretation and Research of Rivers. Tera, Esla and Orbigo" ha sido desarrollado investigación con criterios de sostenibilidad pasiva, fue finalista en el WAF y seleccionado en la última Bienal de Arquitectura española.
METALOCUS es una publicación en español e ingles, de difusión internacional, con diferentes premios internacionales a la difusión de la arquitectura y cuya web es http://www.metalocus.es. (spanish and english)
El último número de METALOCUS es el 024 bajo el lema “X >10”. “X >10” es la fórmula para expresar diez más que diez, en relación al proceso de continuidad y los diez años cumplidos con este número. Un número en el que además de proyectos excepcionales y trabajos de artistas como OBEY “el autor del cartel callejero de Obama” y Antony Hegarty, el conocido solista de música “indi”, con una muestra de su obra gráfica, seguimos apuntalando las ideas sobre paisaje. Proyectos de José Juan Barba, Chen Chieh-jen, Carlos Ferrater, Michelé+Miquel, Miralles-Tagliabue, Manuel Ocaña, Rosa Rull y Manuel Baillo, Roldan + Berenguer,… entre otros, a los que añadimos el apartado dedicado a viviendas y a la exposición de Beatriz Colomina sobre las “little magazine” por Princeton University. Un número excepcional para una celebración excepcional, a tan sólo un número del carismático 025.
En estos momentos, donde las revistas se han convertido en el último laboratorio objetual y verdaderamente dialéctico dentro de la cultura de lo virtual, hemos dedicado en este último número 6 páginas básicamente en blanco para que el lector interactúe físicamente con la revista dibujando sobre ella, realizando collages o guardando sus pensamientos en ella.
