lollllllllllllllllllllllllllll
how do you find the idea??
As I sit here watching the Penguins dance over my Rangers, I can’t help but notice how bias the refs are. Why? Because Crosby and Malkin are the future of the NHL? What happened with the high stick on Drury? Oh that’s right, the Penguins’ did it, so no call. But if someone even checks the Penguins, it’s a penalty. I don’t know what kind of shift the NHL is running, but I think the teams and their fans deserve a fair game from refs that have no intentions on being bias. The NHL commission needs to look at the men in black and white and seriously start weeding through the ranks! It’s a complete disgrace on the game! SHAPE UP, NHL!
it should not be.
class a play - a class Sasion :-) thanks Rangers - thanks Henrik, you were very good!!
To everyone out here in Rangerland...Put on those Blue, white and red jerseys and get ready to watch the boys shut Cindy Crosby right up. Embrace the fact that all the "experts" have us beat, embrace the underdog role cause in around 2 or less weeks when Fleury and Cindy are making tee times, we'll be laughing our way into the Conference finals! LETS GO RANGERS!
Henrik Lundqvist became to 20.04.08 uncles.

| Henrik and Joel Lundqvist would love the chance to play each other in the Stanley Cup Finals. Henrik Lundqvist and Joel Lundqvist (2006) |
H enrik's identical twin, Joel, a Dallas Star' center
Joel Lundqvist said:
"Yeah, my wife gave birth to our first child (on April 20); a little girl (Vilma ) around lunchtime," Joel told NHL.com. "So, to us, he's Uncle Henrik now."
It's definitely not the first time Joel has given Henrik a little nudge to the gut with sly commentary, and it certainly won't be the last, but the brotherly bond between Henrik and Joel is certainly special. In addition to playing the game they love in different cities, they are also excited about the prospects of possibly meeting in hockey's biggest series -- the Stanley Cup Final.
"It's still far down the road, but wouldn't that be something if we met up in the Final?" Joel said. "Of course, it's possible since we both play for teams that have advanced and want to go all the way. It would be awesome if it happens."
Joel said:
"Each of us really wanted to win, so that's why it was always the best when we were on the same team. If one was on the other team and lost, that person sometimes ended up crying, just like any other young brother would, or running away. So it was better being together."
Macho man and provocateur Sean Avery -- by some accounts the most hated player in the National Hockey League -- will be joining the estrogen-infused world of fashion as an unpaid intern at Vogue magazine.
in his 14 months as a Rangers left wing, Avery has tallied 212 penalty minutes, which makes many wonder if he can handle editorial collaboration and taking orders as an intern.
"We are going to have to see how far the Rangers go to
determine when he will start, but he will certainly be here and get an
internship with a variety of editors," Patrick O'Connell, director of
communications for Vogue, told ABCNews.com. "I don't know if he'll be
writing yet, but he will be doing regular tasks."
That means the stocky, 28-year-old athlete -- who is in the midst of the NHL playoffs --- will be "answering phones, working photo shoots, getting samples, contacting people, working the gamut," according to O'Connell.
The magazine internship is not without precedent. Matt Chatham, the starting linebacker for the New York Jets, was a writing intern at Esquire in 2004 and, according to one inside source, "was a really nice kid and did well."
"He is ridiculously obsessed with fashion," Avery's publicist Nicole Chabot told ABCNews.com. "He loves it more than anything in the world. It's something he has always wanted to do."
He's also charming, she noted. "There is not a woman that doesn't fall in love with him in five minutes."
He is "what hockey people call an agitator," writes The New Yorker's Nick Paumgarten. "His job, which seems to have no analogue in sports -- or in any line of work, except maybe terrorism -- is to annoy his opponents so intensely that they cannot resist retaliating. He goads foes into losing their focus and, in theory, the game."
Good bye Avery
I believe it am the correct for avery
unfortunate around the ice hockey player it into the fashion pulls!
it is located much too gladly in the center - it needs the attention, like air to breathing :-)
in the summer he becomes a free agent, how you find its new away?
potvin really did suck! i just found out at last nights game about the ankle beaking thing! Gives soooooo much more meaning to the chant.
Oh and the Devils really need to make up some of their own chants instead of biting ours!
In addition to being a native New Yorker and avid Rangers fan, Coots was a nationally-known songwriter who authored more than 700 songs. His most famous works included "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Love Letters in the Sand."
A member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Coots died in 1985 at the age of 87, but his love for the Rangers has lived on for decades in the song played after every Blueshirts win at Madison Square Garden.
Here are the lyrics to Coots' "Rangers Victory Song":
Verse
Listen to the cheering of the people in the stands
Twenty Thousand hockey bugs and each a Ranger fan!
It's plain as day to see
They want a victory!
All together now strike up the band!
Chorus
Just keep your stick on that puck
And don't lay down on your luck;
That's the Rangers' Victory Song!
Get through the enemy's goal
With all your heart and your soul;
That's the Rangers' Victory Song!
You've got to fight, Rangers fight
With a grin on your chin!
Tonight is the night
So get in there and win!
This game is worth any price;
Go out and put it on ice
That's the Rangers' Victory Song!
Does anyone know why no one used their alternate jersey this season? Just curious.....

As a true fan, of course it sucks to say that our playoff run has ended but I'm happy with the efforts and contributions from all the players. I know next year will be better. Hopefully the league will look at some of the rediculous calls by the refs throughout this years playoffs and do something about it. I'm looking forward to next season!
Obviously every player played an important role in this years playoff run but the 2 guys that stood out the most (I'm sure you can agree) were Jagr and Lundqvist. So, who would you give MVP for this years NYR playoff run?
If we look at some of the most sucessful franchises in sports: New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics, Montreal Canadiens, etc., there is none more unique than the New York Rangers. They may not be the most successful team ever, but they sure are the "classiest team in hockey." They've got the most passionate fans in the world. If you look at the Rangers' attendance records, they have sold out EVERY GAME, whether it was during a winning season or a disappointing season. They draw 18,200 fans to ALL games at Madison Square Garden. Why is that? Rangers fans are the most loyal and the most faithful fans ever. They don't care if the Rangers win or lose, they just want to see the team they love. The Rangers have had they bad moments. From not winning the cup in a 54 year drought to not making the playoffs from 1998-2004, their fans continued to support their beloved Blueshirts. I DON'T want to hear the ignorant Islanders and Devils fans say "you guys play at the Garden, in the biggest city in the world, and half of your seats are owned by businesses." Because if you look at the Knicks, they play in the same arena/city, and has half of their seats owned by businesses. But when they stink, they don't draw sell out crowds, whereas for the Rangers, they sellout whether they win OR lose.
In Game 6 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Quarter Finals, after the Rangers lost to Buffalo 5-4 in New York, the Garden faithful remained in the arena, and still gave the Rangers a standing ovation for their efforts. For the Rangers fans, there is no shame in defeat. Just pride in how far they came. That's why the Rangers, even though they lost, still gave their fans a final salute by raising their sticks. In contrast, Islanders and Devils fans would be complaining and cry like babies when they lose. They are the biggest sore losers in the world.
I don't know if any other fan notices, but I think Rangers fans share a bond together. There is always this feeling of love between Rangers fans. Whenever I see someone, a stranger, a classmate, people from facebook, etc., I would go up to them and say "Lets go Rangers," and would have a good conversation with them. That's why most of my friends who like hockey are Rangers fans. Rangers fans has this bond that I don't think any fan of other team would have.
The Islanders and Devils fans are the worst sport fans I have ever seen. They are arrogant, ignorant, stupid, and showoffs. They NEVER admit that another team is better than them, and they are classless. They care more about "hating the Rangers" than loving their own teams. During EVERY Devils and Islanders home game they would have the infamous "Rangers suck" chant, similar to the "Yankees suck" chant in Boston (ggrrrr). I hate the Red Sox fans for hating the Yankees, but at least I respect them for their love and passion for their beloved Sox. But Isles and Devils fans are passionless. They NEVER sellout any game when they're not playing the Rangers, and even if they do, 40-60% of the fans belong to the Rangers.
Another thing I hate about the Isles fans is that they ALWAYS make excuses about their failures and lack of fan support. Them and their stupid "the Rangers play in the biggest city in the world and half of their seats are corporate" comments makes me wanna punch them in their faces. I especially hate it when they say "Rangers have won just 1 cup in the past 67 years and never won consecutive cups" and "we've won 4 straight Cups." HELLO! At least even if they have never won a Cup they would still sellout their games and will still get the fan support that their Islosers lack. And, as I mentioned on my earlier blog, Rangers fans share a bond that makes them seem like a family, and that no other teams' fans can understand. So they should just STFU and worry about their own team.
I don't know if other Rangers know this, but in Game 3 OR 4 of last year's 1st round against the Sabres at the Coliseum, during the moment of silence for the Virginia Tech incident, 1 douchebag yelled "RANGERS SUCK COCK!" If I was there I would have killed him. And idk if it was the same game, but beer was thrown onto the ice as well. Me, as well as everyone who are apart of this website, are glad that we're not Islanders fans. I live on Long Island, but there are a lot of Rangers fans around here, so I'm safe.
Unbeatable isn’t a word thrown around too often in hockey circles. So
many games equates to so many opportunities to fumble good chances and
fall on the unfavorable side of the scoresheet.
Invincible is another one of those faux-pas words. No team is invincible the way no team is unbeatable .
Pens win already to for a long time!
They have now too long series, I believe it are now 14 in follow those it to win.
The play of yesterday fell because of 2 Penalties - once 4 minutes and then in 2 Period because Ryan Hollweg! Powerplay the Rangers works nervously.
It would take a miracle — yes, those can happen in hockey, we know that
— for the Rangers to win this series now that they’re behind three
games to none. Only two teams have come back from 3-0 deficits to win a
series, the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs and the 1975 New York Islanders , against Pittsburgh.
Fleury is not better, than Henrik, but the defense of pens.
It will be their last chance tomorrow will prove that they are better!
No team is invincible the way no team is unbeatable!
Lets go Rangers
What means it, wins it tomorrow?
I say...yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
FOR ME GONCHAR SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING YOU CAUGHT ON A WILD WEEKEND, TUGNUTT, IS SELF EXPLANATORY. WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK? ANOTHER ONE WHICH I FIND VERY AMUSING IS ODUYA.
(WHEN THE RANGERS PLAYED THE DEVILS I WOULD LAUGH WHEN THEY'D SAY THE NAME. THAN ME AND MY NEPHEWS CAM UP WITH ALL DIFFERENT SAYINGS LIKE ODUYA UP AGAINST THE BOARDS, ODUYA ON THE ICE, ODUYA GET'S A PENALTY FOR AN ILLEGAL CURVED STICK. JUST A FEW SAYINGS-THAT'S HOW SICK MY MIND IS :}
This is a sad day in New York. Sean Avery is gone. We will miss him. But clearly he did not want to come back or the organization did not want him.
so many to choose but it has to be Bruce Driver. Malik is moving up the ranks quickly though
In the early rounds of the playoff's the Russian team was persuing Jagr and part of the deal would be if he signed with them Alexi Cherepanov (our first round draft pick in 07) would be let out of his 2 year contract with the Russian team 1 year early, meaning he would be playing with the Rangers the 08-09 season. Since Jagr is gone nothing has been said about it. Can anyone tell me if they heard any thing about that deal and if so what happened? I read an interview Cerepanov did and he made no mention of coming to the Rangers. He did say his dream was to play with Jagr. He showed no excitement about being a Ranger or in the NHL. By the way Avangard Omsk the team Jagr went to and Cherepanov is on played an exibition game and Cherepanov had a hat trick with 2 of the goals asists by Jagr. LETS GO RANGERS!!!! TRUE BLUE FOREVER!!!!
I obviously asked this question before the death of Cherepanov. He is a loss to all hockey fans and the New york team. We will never get to enjoy his talent. R.I.P.
I feel really bad for Shanny. He has been left waiting on the back burner as if he's been an insignificant player. He is a future hall of famer who deserves a lot of respect for the player he is and the person he is both on and off the ice. He has a lot of class and his team mates, fans, and even the NHL respect him. Leave it to Sather to treat him with such disrespect. Shanny has always had the attitude pay everyone else and i will take whatever is left. Who does this!!! If he was signed there would be no question as to who the Captain should be, to me there is no question that Shanny should be the Capatain. He always should have been the Captain and i belive he was the Captain behind the scenes. Is sather on a mission to get rid of everyone the fans love. Shanny deserves more respect!!!!!!!!!!!!
