I've been a real estate photographer in Tucson since 2005. I noticed the 2 flying rods in this still photo after I unloaded the photos from the camera. Did not see them with the naked eye while I was taking pictures. There has been no editing done to the image. They are definitely not moths. The shutter speed was fast enough to capture them without the extended multi-wing images that appear in videos. I think this is their true shape. Seem to be nearly transparent and very fast.
I was taking pictures of the double rainbow. After loading the pictures on to my computer, I noticed the "lines" in the pictures. Are these what you consider "rods"? These were taken in Mountain Home ID
This is the previous photo taken without the rod. As I was looking away from the camera, my wife took the photo again, the next one containing the rod.
The technical details are identical - the time between photos would have been seconds, there is little movement in the frame, and the zoom/exposure are the same.
This picture was taken by my wife at Sumner Beach on the 11th of September.
The picture is in the mouth to a cave on the beach which my daughters and I were exploring. It was taken around 5pm (NZ Winter time) with a compact digital camera. The tehnical details are f/7.4 @ 1/14sec.

I like most was sceptical about the existance but, to have a photo containing a clear rod changes that.

The reason this was so convincing was that there was another picture taken a few seconds previous, but I was looking away so it was retaken. There was no sign of the rod on the first picture DSCN4482 but it is apparent on DSCN4483 (I will upload both pictures).
What are your thoughts? Am I right - If so thanks to my friend 4 years ago telling me about them - sorry I was sceptical.

On an infrared digital camera at 6:30 a.m.
I don't know if this is a rod or just a cool refraction of light but thought I'd submit it for some opions. I took it just past midnight trying to get a good nightime picture with a full moon.

Taken August 4, 2009 outside building in Boulder, Colorado. Photo enlarged. Camera is Nikon Coolpix S630.
Taken from my backyard on July 15, 2009 using a Nikon Coolpix S630 camera. I was as usual, taking random sky photos hoping for that darn UFO that hangs around but got this nice flying object instead.
It is an unusual one so I will keep it.
Follow up photo after posting original. This photo is enlarged several times and using different adjustments as well as contrast and brightness I came up with this photo.
You can clearly see the unusual sides of this living creature and also what appears to be two antenna sticking out front of the head which is on the left end. The body then tapers towards a narrower tail end. Take the original and play around with it and see what you come up with.
Rod is bottom center of photograph. I will upload an enhanced version of this creature shortly after this photo. I took this photo at work during lunch time. I took about 284 photographs and found two rods in these photographs. I was using my Nikon Coolpix S630 camera outside the building I work at in Boulder, Colorado.
Taken August 3, 2009 at 12:52pm outside the building I work at in Boulder, Colorado. I was using my Nikon Coolpix S630 camera taking random sky photos at lunch time and ended up taking 284 photographs. Out of this many I got two rod pictures.
This rod clearly has some type of wings along its side. The picture taken 4 seconds before and the picture taken four seconds after to not contain the rod in the picture. The rod is near the top edge.
Follow up photograph of one submitted earlier. Taken June 28, 2009 from my backyard in Westminster, Colorado using my Nikon Coolpix S630 camera while taking random sky photos.
This enlargement is also cropped and enhanced to show the features of this strange flying thing. Please get this thing out of my yard, Please.
