About Me

Hi, I'm Justin Murphy, a writer who's 23 years old, originally from Dothan, Alabama now living in the Orlando, Florida area. I've written a couple novelettes entitled Everyone Loves A Scandal and Dothan along with a collection of short stories entitled The Young South. I also won a couple writing contests with my first full length novel entitled The Truth About Murder, which is now in its fourth draft and has gotten interest from a few agents. I've been in this business almost 4 1/2 years, writing fiction in general for 8, with numerous unproduced screenplays also to my credit along with a freelance paying job writing articles and columns for Associated Content.

More info on The Truth About Murder:

Leon Brooks, a retired deputy sheriff and former professional wrestler, has gone into hiding for murder. The Truth About Murder is an 80,000 word psychological thriller where an ex law enforcer struggles to stay on the run, with deputy sheriffs he knew years earlier now pursuing him, having no idea he needed to protect his nephew for a reason.

No one can understand why a retired deputy sheriff would trade in the ethics he once served and protected in exchange for murder. Even Bob Foster, an old rival from his wrestling days has gotten into the mix trying to piece together why someone he once knew would commit such a horrible act. The murder victim’s father, Jacob Lassiter, is also chasing after him, wanting to find an explanation in regards to why his son was killed. Everyone wants to know why this old man would be motivated to do this in order to protect his nephew, but only Leon Brooks himself has the answer and he’s not telling anyone why he did it. He’s hiding out in a cabin in the middle of the woods, trying to evade capture, and keeping a close eye on those he loves. None of them know the murder victim was some child molester who got what he deserved.

My background in publishing includes writing a couple of novellas entitled Everyone Loves A Scandal and Dothan along with a collection of short stories entitled The Young South. I first explored writing crime fiction in these last two releases. The Truth About Murder is my attempt at writing this genre on a bigger platform.
