It was a radical concept ... drop everything, lay low and let the world pass by. In fact, it seemed like the world was on the fast-track and I wouldn't be able to catch up again. After months of hospitalization and super-intensive chemo, along with a bone marrow stem cell transplant at City of Hope near Pasadena, CA, new life was to start for me in January 2008.

In the process of my fight against Burkitt's Lymphoma, I felt a huge loss of vision and purpose for my life . The creation of the getavisionPROJECT is a direct outgrowth of my experiences through chemotherapy, bone marrow stem cell transplant and recovery.

Indeed, with the love and strengthening of friends, family and world-class doctors, nurses and a slew of medical support people, life 2.0 really has started for me.  I'm forever grateful to friends and friends-of-friends whom I've never met, who provided the amazing support I needed to make it through. Kasier Permanente's awesome medical care truely is allowing me to live the KP mantra: THRIVE, while the City of Hope truely infused hope and new life into my bones, blood and spirit!

Today I'm on track and have witnessed the most miraculous time of my life ! I had doubts about surviving and even deeper doubts about being able to function in the real world again. But, here I am!
