I am a 41 year old single mother of 2 teenage boys. I live on beautiful Cape Cod in MA. I became disabled in 2004, after a work incident. The incident did not cause my disability, but worsened an already current condition. I have Spondeliothesis(L5),DDD(L4+5) and herniated disc (L4+5). It took me about a year and a half for me to get SSDI. I was rejected 3 times and had to stand before the judge before I was approved. I was constantly told that I was only being rejected because of my age. I was told this by my lawyer and 3 neurosurgeons. I have gone through alot of changes over the past 4 years. I used to be very active and now I can barely move around. Financially I am tapped and may have to sell my home, who can live on $1,000 a month. I am glad to be a part of this org. and hope to find a way out of this mess. This type of org is very much needed.
