Watch Out Deh Now!!!
I was born in South Carolina and began my career by chance in 1972 after relocating to Atlanta. I went originally pursuing a career as a clothing designer when $316 short of tuition money. I visited a local club and entered a gong show contest and was asked back to the venue. After that short stent I left Atlanta for L.A., landing a job as head staff writer for the Arsenio Hall Show.
Since then I hosted 2 consecutive seasons of BET’s Comic View, performed on Def Jam, It’s Showtime at the Apollo and Evening at the Improv. I have written for the Tom Joyner TV Show, Steve Harvey’s Big Time, Me and The Boys and The Parent ‘Hood.
I have been in Tripple X -State of the Union, Mr. 3000, Drumline, How to Be a Player, Dlife-Diabetes Talk Show on CNBC, EVE, Steve Harvey’s Big Time, Like Family, The Parkers, Livin’ Single, The Parent ‘Hood, Martin, Moesha, The Hugley’s, Sparks, and even OPRAH.
I like to think of myself as a businessman and a comedian. I have my own line of products, that includes a clothing line, “The J. Anthony Brown Collection,” honey and hot sauces, CD’s, comedy videos and most recently a comedy club called The J Spot in L.A.
I am a diabetic, so when I get a chance, I promote healthy living with diabetes.
