I am a gracefully aging woman of the "African-American Persuasion" -- also with a sense of humor, as I hope one can detect.  I'm only looking for interesting conversation from time to time.  I love, love, love books, but can't find time to read them.  I appreciate Museums and Art Galleries.  In addition, Liturgical dancing is thrilling to me, but much less the mime.  Give me contemporary Gospel Music and excellent piano or organ accompaniment.  I enjoy dramatic plays and other theatricals.  Spoken Word is quite a thrill, especially because I also can be inspired to pen some poems of my own.  I have worked with children and teens in the past. I've worked in law firms and schools.  I take time to sing in choirs and do some Bible Study, and like to "be there" for strangers as well as friends.  I take world politics seriously and am keenly concerned about the environment.   I hope you think that's well-rounded interests, enough to entice you to talk with me.  May Peace be with you!

Favorite bands and musicians:
I enjoy all types of music mostly, although country and western, and Bluegrass or Blues is not so appealing to me. I go easily from classical to jazz, and from Old Skool to a bit of the cleaner Hip Hop. I try to keep up with some of the most popular artists so I know what my young people are listening to and talking about.

Favorite TV shows:
I watch CNN, some C-Span, Tavis Smiley, Larry King, often Oprah and Ugly Betty, and American Idol. I enjoy "Dancing with the Stars" at times, but really come to appreciate the new wave of creativity in the "Randy Jackson Presents" dancing. Love "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Sometimes Desperate Housewives, The View and Gray's Anatomy. I follow Black shows and/or actors as much as I can.
