About Me

Shannon Hile makes an auspicious debut as director of THE INTERVENTION.   Shannon has worked for over two decades as a producer, writer, director and an actor.   Her background as an actor,  has given her the opportunity to work with several prominent directors such as Leon Ichasco (El Cantante, Pinero) Michael Rymer (Queen of the Damned, Angel Baby), Anand Tucker (Shopgirl) and David Duchovney (X-Files).

Born and raised in Southern California, Shannon wrote her first screenplay Death by Multiple Choice, at the ripe age of nine.  Shannon and her acting buddies from Venice High School, made several 8mm films that played in garages across the Southland.  She went on to study with Milton Katselas and then the acclaimed Actor’s Studio, in Los Angeles.  She also had the privilege of learning improv at Toronto’s Second City.  Her professional acting career began, playing lounge singer Shari Fabu, on The Late Mr. Pete Show.  Her acting credits include: Shopgirl, with Steve Martin and Claire Danes, Execution of Justice, playing a young Dianne Feinstein opposite Tim Daly and Peter Coyote, Monk, X-Files, Earth Final Conflict, In a Heartbeat, PSI Factor, The Associates, Jackie, Ethel and Joan: Woman of Camelot and the Lifetime movies Dangerous Child and Sex, Lies, and Obsession.

Having directed for the Los Angeles Art Theatre, which she co-founded, Shannon produced over twelve productions in the company’s three-year history.  The company won 7 Drama-Logue awards, 3 NAACP awards and 3 LA Critics Nominations.  After writing/directing/acting for the sketch comedy group On the off Ramp in Toronto and directing theatre in Los Angeles, Shannon shifted her interest to film.  She found her way behind the camera as the First Assistant Director on the independent films Blossom Time and Into the Light; The Fanny Crosby Story.  Shannon has directed a series of comedy shorts for the Los Angeles comedy troupe Unusual Suspects.

THE INTERVENTION is a highly personal story for Shannon, having lost a family member to this disease.  Heavily influenced by horror films of the 1960’s and 70’s, Shannon was able to use this venue, to express the nightmare of of living through addiction.
