My home is in Georgia, where my three sons live with their families.  I have 3 adorable grandchildren and many wonderful friends.  Currently, I'm adjusting and recovering from traumatic injuries. 

In 2007, I became disabled due to an injury while waterskiing, resulting in an above knee amputation.  While on crutches after the AKA, my arm was severely cut by broken glass when I fell through a glass door, severing an artery and two nerves.  So, I became a one-armed pirate (with a peg leg), naming myself Thumper. 

Currently, I'm working on figuring out what my "new normal" is, and how to be independent and self-sufficient going forward.  The injured nerves are still regenerating, so I have another year before I'll know what my full potential will be. 

The Disability Digest has been a fabulous source of information, resources, tips, guidelines, etc., etc., etc.  I look forward to networking thru the "Community".
