Rhea Akler graduated from The York University Theatre Program in Directing. Her love of acting ultimately overshadowed her degree and she plummeted into the depths of her passion with vigor and purpose. Selected Film/TV credits include Shades of Black, Kevin Hill, Doc, The White Raven, Virus and the indie short, The Getaway, which won the audience favourite award at the Washington D.C. Shorts Film Festival and was nominated for Best Comedy at the FAIF Film Festival in Hollywood. Rhea has studied in Toronto through C.A.S.T. with Al Waxman, Carol Rosenfeld, Rosemary Dunsmore and Diana Reis and in NYC at HB Studio with Salem Ludwig, Anne Jackson and Edward Morehouse. Currently, she is a long-time student of Carter Thor Studio East and a member of 20 Buck Films which continue to inspire and fuel her journey. She is an ACTRA member and represented by Law Talent in Toronto. Rhea is thrilled to have her first short film which she wrote, starred and co-produced being screened at La Femme Film Festival 2009.
