Hi Everyone!

I am a single mom to three teenage boys. My oldest who will be 19 in May will be going off to college in June. He is my first leaving the nest and I don't think I could have ever gotten ready for this. So, I've been practicing on no tears- at least until I am out of his sight. Yes, I am scared to let him go, but I will never hold him back.
I have an adventurous spirit, I love traveling and trying out new things. I also love to write. I have been writing since the age of 12. I have always been so intrigued by books and the stories they told. Books were and still are my escape to worlds I may never see. I have always been able to communicate so much better on paper than I ever could verbally. I can be a bit shy and find it hard to express what I feel verbally. But give me the opportunity to express myself through writing and you have a unique view into my soul.
I am a native New Yorker born and raised. When I graduated from High School, I started hitchhiking around the country. That's how I ended up in Mississippi. Believe me... there is a whole lot more story in between but I'll share that privately with anyone interested.
So, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here, learn a few things about the writing world, and hopefully someday have millions of people around the world sitting at the edge of their seats as they anticipate my next work. Is that too much to ask for?

What type of writer are you?
My first writing passion is poetry. I see poetry as a cleansing of the soul. I also love to write personal essays, create short stories and write articles on subjects I am passionate about.

Interests and hobbies:
Reading and Writing takes up most of my free time. But I also love to shop when I can, I Love to travel, surfing the internet, Making friends, spending precious time with my boys who think they've gotten too big to hang out with Mom.

I would like to meet:
The person I would Love to meet one day is Mike Geffner (Hi Mike). He is such a remarkable writer and a perfect example of someone whose life is completely dedicated to all aspects of writing and he takes so much joy in teaching others what he knows. I would also love to meet Maya Angelou. Her writing has been such an inspiration for me.

Best attribute:
I think that my best attribute is my caring heart. I enjoy people and it always shows through my "unending smile" as many of my customers has put it. Life is so precious and I do smile all the time.

Worst attribute:
Eeekkk... my worst attribute is how I view myself. I can be my own worst critic.

Favorite bands and musicians:
I don't have certain Favorites. I love music and Country Music is my favorite. I also love oldies, Gospel, R&B, and Latin Music.

Favorite movies:
Any Play or movie created by Tyler Perry, Most Horror Movies, Natural Disaster movies, and Movies presented by Hallmark Hall Of Fame. I know these are vague... but I can't think of any certain movies right now. But they will fall under these genres.

Favorite TV shows:
I am a a fan of reality shows, my favorites being- Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother. I also like most news programs such as 20/20 and Dateline.

Favorite blogs and websites:
Helium.com, Writing World, Writing.com, Poets.com, WriterPeople.com, Lit.org, Webshots, Mediabistro.com, and a bunch of others... all my favorites have to do with writing.

Favorite places:
Beaches, Mountains, any beautiful countryside. I would love to travel to Hawaii and visit the less populated islands.

Favorite artists:
Alan jackson. Goerge Strait, Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Alabama, The Judds.... as you can see I do love my country music.

Favorite stuff:
I love collecting Dolls and stuff animals. In a household full of guys (even our dogs are male) I love having my own girlie places throughout the house. I also love all types of unique snow globes.

Scary stuff:
The U.S. Government and child molesters.
