    Hi all,

Very excited to get home with my new machine ... very impatient to get started :o)

I'm reading through the user manual and I've just finished the first project with the sheriff badge and have a couple of questions ...

    1. I tried cutting the badge out and the shape has cut ok but I thought it would cut out the text inside the badge and it hasn't ... the tutorial doesn't actually take you as far as cutting out that particular project so I'm not sure what I've missed

    2. I used a piece of A4 medium cardstock even though the object being cut was only a few inches in size ... but peeling the cardstock off the mat has pretty much ruined it, its all curled and creased now. I wasn't able to peel the badge off the mat without creasing it either.

Any advice on the above would be appreciated. Many thanks,

    Julie

    Hi

Firstly the New mat will be very very sticky, just do a few practise runs  cut out some basics shapes, with cardstock not paper, this will remove some of the stickiness.

As for tearing when you remove try an old credit card, or the pazzle scrapper which is

very good as it as a slight point to it, i use it all the time when i have embossed to stop creasing of the card.

Did you do the text inside the sheriff badge, in a different Colour?

It is always a good idea when doing objects inside things.

      I.E

Sheriffs badge outline in red. (watch Videos, on using different colours)

    Text inside in blue.

When you come to cut it you will have two colours showing click the text colour first, and cut that out,

then click the badge colour it will then cut around the text.

If you do the badge first the card might pull or move when cutting the text as the badge is loose.

I hope this makes a little sense, it is very difficult to put it in to words.
