Trying to survive

It has really been tough-trying to learn how to live on the amount I recieve for disability. My husband died 2 yrs ago-and everything keeps going up in cost. My part D med co-payments almost doubled this year! My cable went up, my car insurance went up. I am feeling like I am drowning in bills! Im only 48 -but not able to work-I am in constant pain and on heavy duty meds to control it. I feel very alone out here!!!

  • I was very sorry to hear of your distress. I sympathize having lost my husband to brain trauma, survived head trauma, and have full care of my disabled son- no family! I am also on SSD- he is not- what fun!
As to the Med D - I am in NJ, but try the SLMB (Specified Low-Income Beneficiary/Qualified Individual (SLMBQI-1) PROGRAMS, Are you on that? If you are and you can qualify for assistance from your county Social Services, Medicaid who will pick up the copays and premiums. The SSA can give you information on that and will reimburse your monthly.
    Good Luck and God Bless-

  • I am so sorry to hear about your husbands death. I am also very sorry about all the financial problems and pain that your going through but I know that it was God for me to read your profile because I am experiencing alot of the same hardships as you are. I just got diagnosed with arachnoiditis in september of 2008 after having the symptoms since valentines day of 2007, and I have improved so much mobility wise but the pain hasn't let up much and I am in constant pain but I am telling you this to hopefully comfort you, uplift you, and God is always by your side. My favorite bible verse Joshua 1:9 says Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid nor be dismayed for the Lord you're God is with you wherever you may go.I will be praying for you. I feel for you, and again when you feel alone theres always one person you can go to. I have a song for you to hear and tell me what you think. Artist is Third day song is cry out to Jesus.
