The Future of Detroit

After this past weekend and hearing numerous crazy scenarios on the radio - I'm just curious what the Drew Stanton fans think will happen next year.  Here's some questions I have....

Is Drew Stanton the future?  - He hasn't been given a real chance and with the season we've had  I think that the Lions will go for OU's Bradford or Tim Tebow in the draft.  I really think this is unfair, but I guess if this happens, we can only hope that Drew will get a shot at starting.  Also of course everyone is talking about Mike Vick!!! haha

Detroit Coaching Staff- I think the Lions need to pull a Miami Dolphins - hire a whole new set up.  Get someone in there that knows what they are doing, surround themselves with coaches that have proven track records and finally DON'T DRAFT A WR!!!

Tampa Bay Lions - every single player that came in with Rod from the Bucs, pretty much needs cut.  I don't know why they were all brought in the first place (well I do... because of ROD!!!),  but it's time to GUT THIS TEAM!!!

Players that need cut? - Anyone you guys think should be cut next year?  Kitna, Daunte, Redding?

Just kind of looking for some feedback out there from fans.  What do you think the the future of Detroit is?

  • I agree with what you guys are saying. I think Drew is really a high caliber player and can win as the starter. I think because he's one of Martz' guys that he just hasn't been given real shot at starting. Now that Bradford is out, everyone is saying Stafford.... Please do not draft a QB w/the number one pick.. please!!!! We need a line and we need to address a defense that allowed a season record 2nd most points allowed in an NFL season.

  • I think the lions need to gut out the guys who can't take losing, because i don't think this will be a miami type turn around with them.... I also PREY and HOPE the lions aren't dumb enough to take a QB in the draft.. they have holes all along the defense, and the offense could use some REAL maulers to help the run game.... Kevin Smith has looked really good at times this year, and it's normally when he is running behind backus or godstar clariously <--- burtally spelled... the problem is the guards and centers are getting older... and they were constantly overplayed early in there careers..

  • I think Drew is good enough to be a great NFL QB. I think he can be the future when they finally give him a chance and he'll show the coaching staff and Rod, they choice wrong on not starting him. I doubt they will get a QB with there 1st pick in the draft, they need to rebuild there O-Line and Defence before they ever think of finding a franchise QB in draft. Besides we got Stanton in the second round anyway. Everyone knows hes mobile, strong and is also good in the pocket. Everyone in Detroit wants you to start Drew, you will get a chance and will probaly be starter next season!!!
