Sun & Clouds Today, Precip. South

A line of low pressure is moving through West Virginia this morning, causing some snow and rain showers to our far south.  Kent & Sussex Counties in Delaware, Cumberland, Cape May and Atlantic Counties in New Jersey are all prime candidates for some spotty precipitation early this morning.  Otherwise, look for an abundance of high clouds early in and around the Philly metro and then a mix of sun & clouds for the remainder of the day.

Winds today will be veering from the northeast to the south, nudging us into the low to mid 40s.

Sunrise this morning in Philly:  7:15 AM

A southern storm across the Tennessee River Valley will continue to gather energy and head in our direction by this upcoming weekend.  There is some concern that the precipitation Saturday evening will fall as a rain and a icy (sleet, snow) mix.  Stay tuned to this blog for more updates.

Meanwhile...

  • True, but some of these guys & gals could walk outside with a thermometer, come back inside and still get the current temp wrong.

  • I always says Newz if a forecaster is not in the region they are forecasting for and has not looked at the forecast trends for at least the past 3 months, they have a hard time ahead of them.

  • If there is any window of opportunity for snow this week, it would be a short window on Monday Night. I think it would a wet snow shower with no accumulation. I think the area at prime risk for some mixed precipitation would be in the Poconos.

Otherwise, models continue to stare at 50-70 degree temperature ranges Tuesday through Friday.

  • TWC forecast for Missouri wasn't even close to predicting the actual high.

Not surprised though. There's a saying here in Misery OOPS Missouri "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes"

Darned if it ain't true. This place is a forecaster's worst nightmare.
