This is footage of our recent storm in Goodland, KS on 07.20.2009. Video was taken on Caldwell Street next to the weather station. I shot this video using a FujiPix 4900. Not bad for a 13 year old digital camera.

While taking the video, the tornado sirens were blazing and the wind was moving in swiftly. After the video was shot, a wall of blowing dirt, along with the rain came, which took the visibility factor to just a few yards. Shortly afterwards, it started to hail, which produced stones of various sizes... from 1/4" - 1.5" in diameter.

You can see in the video that it was a very rapidly moving storm. I tried to capture the width of the storm and also tried to capture the speed at which the storm was moving by, panning across. This storm produced alot of damage, with down trees and to buildings, as well.

This was definitely a near miss for our town.
