We would love for you to hear your interpretation of this quote:

" What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"

  • Each step we take in trying to be what someone else is or have what someone else, takes us one step farther from who we are authentically. The true profit lies within.

  • It makes me think of people who sell their true beliefs out in order to please everyone or be everything to everyone. It makes me think of people who desperately seek wealth and power in order to be admired, adored and loved by everyone. Often these seemingly fairy tales end in tragedy or misery. If the world is at your fingertips nothing can excite you anymore and you forget what is important. There is nothing left to profit from if you have it all. That is when the misery begins.

  • I could be happy, sad, mad, nice, mean, in love, hate, active, lazy, sober, drunk, fun, boring, smart, dumb, honest, dishonest, thoughtful, ignorant, rich, poor, creative, copycat, horny or not and none of that would matter if I did not have a soul…. So why would you want the world if you could not be any of the above!
