onthewedgeseat, 4 weeks ago | Flagthanks emma...i am sorry all of you people out there, don't mean to be boring..but here goes..i am just going to put a pic on site..to me it shows that dressage has lost it's way, some years ago ...as i recall in the little grey cells that actually still can recall anything ..dressage is asking the horse ( and pony ) to perform on command, movements that are actually natural movements to the horse anyway..my photo ---of you know who - sorry --- shows a 14 month old pony..he is out for a walk..he is carrying himself in a lovely natural manner.. he is 'on the bit'..his hind quarters are under him and giving forward movement.you could almost say he was going into passage,no rollkur..no rider..no restrictions..i just doing what comes naturally...i rest my simple case.
we do however need to lobby whoever we can to bring this mal-practice to a halt..oh how good to get back to dressage of former times.i watched the dresage champs from hickstead on tv and was frankly quite appalled to see the spur use,i can't understand what state the horses sides must be in after a test has been ridden.too much is being asked now and it is time for those of us who can to try to bring about change..
