  • I was working for a crappy Worcester station at the time and we ended up leaving Sunday morning after hearing rumors of a 24 hour traffic delay just to get to the highway. So we recorded our "live" breaks for Sunday on Saturday afternoon... and the breaks were talking about how great of a time everyone's having and how it was a really cool ending to Woodstock. By the time we got back to Massachusetts, I was going crazy trying to reach the studio to tell them to yank the breaks! I am a true professional. Ha!

Description:

Things got hairy at Woodstock 99 after the Limp Bizkit set. Angry fans who came looking for love got none from vendors who were ripping them off. This coupled with an urge to make their own mark spurred thongs to go wild, even settiong fires. The night air was punctuated by the sounds of reefer truck compressors exploding, fire trucks wailing, and cops banging their clubs on the pavement in unison to intimidate rioters. The TV people freaked and packed up al their equipment into broadcast vehicles and slammed the doors, hoping to survive the tsunami of angry rockers. The radio folks kicked back and drank beer and watched the whole thing unfold. It was pretty surreal as the vid will show.
