Presenter FAQ - Please read before submitting

Q: I noticed on the videos of your series "Festivals Most Extreme" that three of the seven episodes, namely Burning Man, Sturgis and the Running of the Bulls are not hosted. Do you plan on using hosts in your future episodes?

A: Yes. We find that the hosted episodes are more popular then the non-hosted ones.

Q: How many more episodes are you planning to produce?

A: We intend to produce a sixty minute episode each month, starting in the next few months.

Q: How much do your hosts get paid?

A: It depends on the host but the standard in the industry. Well known travel hosts can get as much as $20,000 an episodes but lesser ones may get as little as $500. It really depends on the festival, the experience and background of the host

Q: Are you only casting non-union hosts?

A: Not only. We are not a signatory of any union agreement and it's not entirely clear what union has jurisdiction over non fiction travel shows for the internet, particularly episodes shot out side the USA. If you are in a union we suggest you contact your representative and find out if hosting a travel show might conflict with your status. The only union that might consider it a conflict is AFTRA, as they cover TV production.

A: What festivals are you planning to cover?

Q: We haven't made any final decisions but there will be a variety of festivals. Many of the festivals we covered in the past were frankly drunkfests. We want to cover these types of festivals in the future, such as Spring Break but we also are interested in more cultural and religious festivals. Feel free to suggest a festival you've been to or know about in a blog or forum and we will look into it. Currently the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance, Palio in Siena Italy, Buenos Aires Tango Festival and Festival in the Desert in Mali are at the top of the list

A: Are you looking for female or male hosts? Do you have an age group in mind?

Q: So far we have cast four female and one male host and they have been in their twenties or early thirties, as most festivals seem to attract a young crowd but we're open to all ages. It really depends on the host and the particular festival.

A: Will you use the same host in more than one episode?

Q: Definitely. If you are the host and attract a following there's no reason to use you again. In fact we will do our best to promote you as a host of the program in whatever way we can.

A: Sounds like a dream job. What's the next step?

Q: Log in, blog about why you think you're right for the hosting position and if possible upload a video to the community It doesn't have to be professional. It could just be something you recorded on a webcam in front of your computer or you could produce a short hosting clip and upload it to as well.

Good luck. We believe that great hosts make or break a festival travel show and view all submissions.
