My Chicago Hot Spots

May 12, 2009

I’ve been having a great time in Chicago lately.

I went to the Bulls playoff games against the Celtics. The last one here went into triple overtime, that was awesome.

I also went to a BlackHawks game against Vancouver in the playoffs and shot the puck during the second intermission. They put a big board with a small hole in the middle in front of the goal and give you three shots from center ice. It was hard, I hit the board all three times but didn’t score.

They gave me an authentic BlackHawks jersey with my name and No. 82 on the back and that was pretty cool.

So I thought I would make a list of five of my favorite places to hang out in Chicago:

1) Joe’s Bar. They have a lot of live country acts.

2) Japonais. One of my favorite restaurants.

3) Sunza. Might be my new favorite spot. All different types of Asian food.

4) Hub 51. A restaurant with a club downstairs.

5) Bob Chinn’s. A well-known place to get great food, out near where I live.

As you can tell, eating is something I’m pretty good at.

Meanwhile we’ve been going through our off-season conditioning program. Everything’s been good.

In the draft I think we brought in a couple of young receivers who can help and some guys that will really provide some depth. Hopefully they can come in and help right away.

We gave up some of our draft in the Jay Cutler trade so you have to consider that when you look over our draft picks. I’ve been able to throw the ball around with Jay twice a week for the last five weeks now and everything is going well.

  • Greg,

I am a huge Bears' fan, and a fan of yours.  I think you have exceeded all the expectations, notwithstanding that the expectations were very high.  Except for the Carolina game last year, you have been more than solid.  I guess everybody have tough/bad days.

I will be in Soldier Field on opening day against the Steelers, flying from San Diego, California.  I have also got tickets for the game against the 49ers in San Francisco on November 12th.

My wife is an Asian-food lover.  I will definitely take her out to one of the two places you recommend during the weekend of Septemeber 20th.

    My best regards.

  • You the man G-reg.  Hub, Japonais, and Sunda are some great spots.  Hub 51 has the best carrot cake in the Chi.

  • I can't wait to see you catch a bunch TD's from Jay during the regular season. If both you and Jay stay healthy, I think both of you have a legit sshot at the Pro Bowl this year.
