Hi everyone. I just joined. I have a disability cae waiting in appeals right now. I do have a lawyer. i`m using Binder and Binder. I was turned down at the hearing. When I got the paper work it seems like they didn`t even read my doctors impairment form. They even had stuff I never said in there.I`m so tired of waiting because I need surgrey to remove hardware from L5S1. I hurt so bad all day. I even have my congressmans office helping me. I can`t get it expidited unless we go into foreclosure. My hubby just got a new position at work as a health tech so e are getting insurance. Then I can get my sugery and possibly go back to work. Then I just have to wait to see if I get approved for all the years I couldn`t work. I wish it didn`t take so long.

Hey Cuttie,either way,it's still gonna be some time before you get your case heard,sorry to say.If you do fire your lawyer,the new one will negociate the fired lawyer's fees.I wish you luck.I feel also that I'm paying my lawyer to wait with me.I don't know why they don't stay on one case til it's settled,I've had to wait 21 months til my lawyers appeal and rebuttle could be heard.

Hey Don,the worst part of your friend trying for disability is that even tho he probably won't get it approved it will tie up precious time the system could be giving to some one who's truely in need of their disability.It's sad that your friend is that way.I'd have to dump that person as a friend if he were a friend of mine.It's just not right to do what he's doing.

It's been over 18 months since my case was sent to the appeals council in Virgina.I was told it could take up to 24 months.Just out of curiosity,I called them to see where or what was the status of my case.The Lady who helped me said congradulations,your case has been brought before the board and that I should be hearing about it by the end of the month.I'm so scared to be excited about the news.I know it'll be great to hear something positive,and that it's been approved,but then on the other hand,if it's been denied again,I'd be crushed and so disappointed.So,either way,Here I sit on pins and needles waitting everyday for the phone to ring or the mail to come.Trying to think positive and expecting the worse.I feel like a yoyo and my moods differ by the hour.Too bad we can't sue the government for pain and angrish for having to wait so dang long to see if it'll be another 18-24 months robing peter to pay paul,or if you'll have a chance of living some sort of halfway normal life again.I pray for the later.Thanks for listening....I wish you all,the best of luck...

I Have a friend i have known for 25 years and he has been apply for disabilty he was turn down and now he is going for the appeal. The thing is there is nothing wrong wih him he just does not want to work. Me being a tax payer and recently becoming disabled am upset by him doing this. Applying for disabilty was the last thing i wanted to do. I fought to keep working till my illness got more then i could handle and all the dr i was seeing said the only thing i could do is get on disabilty. because there is nothing they can do. I just beleave disabilty is for people that have no other choice. But my friend just does not want to work about 8 years ago he got a job at Burger king for about 2 mths till he said he just didn't feel like working anymore. So he lives with his mom and does nothing but drink he gets cash assiance from the state and just used that for alchol. Now he wants to get disabilty so he can continue this. He might be my friend but this upsets me. disabilty is there for people that are disabled. I wish there was something I could do or say to let the socail sercurty know what he is doing.
