Coach Dan Blankenship in the news!

Happy Monday, All!  I just wanted to let everyone know that Dan Blankenship, Head Coach for the YMCA's 10k training team, was on tv!  He was on channel 6 last week giving a brief tutorial about stretching.  As we all know, stretching is a very important part of any workout routine.  As Dan will tell you, stretching before your workout is important but you want to be sure not to overdo it and injure your muscles that aren't warmed up yet.  When stretching afterwards, you are able to push yourself a little more because your muscles aren't as fragile (for lack of a better word).  In case you missed it, here it is:  http://www.wtvr.com/Global/category.asp?C=86435&nav=menu79_1

From all of us who know Dan from the West End Running Group, we are very proud of his accomplishments and feel lucky to be training with him once again.  Keep up the good work, Dan, and thanks for all you do for the Richmond running community!

  • Thanks April for the comments. I only wish I had 15 more minutes of air time to cover a lot more on stretching. The time went by too fast.
