Bits bits bits

Can someone PLEASE give me their opinion for a good bit choice for trail riding. I want a non harsh bit comfortable for the horse. I know it is the hands of the rider that in the end determine comfort but there are TOO MANY CHOICE and too many opinions that don't help.

THANK YOU

  • How well is your horse trained? Many of us ride bitless, with sidepulls. The Icelandic Horse has a low palate, so a single jointed snaffle may not be a good choice. Possibly a double-jointed snaffle, or a Myler comfort snaffle, or a kimberwicke. What does your horse like? Do you ride with a lot of contact?
