Inauguration Day 2009

Banes & Noble and Sybil

While listening to the TJMS this morning I was apalled by Sybil's insanity. Why she is allowed to display her high and mighty attitude day after day really perplexes me. She is rude crass and downright abusive to people who call in. While no one likes the situation with Barnes and Noble and it was something no one wanted to happen and perhaps the man from Barnes and Noble did not answer the way Sybil thought he should have, he was never given time to say what he wanted to say. Even Roland could not say much. Frankly,  the whole thing turned me off and after 10 plus years of listening I will not be tuning in to the show anymore. I am fed up with the silliness and stupidity day after day. It is one thing to have good clean fun, but it is another to be nasty to people and Sybil and her pious attitude to almost everyone who calls in has gone on long enough. Tom, you sit there and say nothing to Sybil or J. Anthony Brown who thinks everything is funny. No matter what is brought up, no matter how serious he makes a joke out of it. Are you so desperate for a laugh that you don't care what or who you make fun of? I am tired of hearing Tom say, "I am just a DJ. Does this make you less of a person? You have worked hard and done some pretty amazing things for people especially HBCU's, Take a Love One to the Doctor, keeping the community informed, the many things you have done go on and on. Do not let Sybil destroy what you have worked so hard for with her arrogance and wanna be attitude. She is just riding on the coat tail of all that YOU have worked so hard for. The true measure of one's intelligence is not how much you can belittle people but how you use that knowledge to help and inspire people. Sybil is out of control and she needs to reeled in before you have no one listening to you. Peace!

Comments

  • Wow, our people are great listeners and I'm so glad no one is agreeing with the way Sybil acted on the show the other day when they had the CEO of B&N on the air. We are growing up and I'm so proud of my people right now. I'm feed up too with some of Sybil's reactions to certain situations, but I aint gonna stop listening to the show, yet.

  • This is very true. You guys need to listen to your guest. You make comments that are way off the mark and put words in your guest 's mouth. now I enjoyed you jokes and comments for a while untill your hate and discontent just turns me off. I wont stop listening because like one of your guest said a while back "we must be present at the table to find out what's going on" Clean up your act, remember there is a difference between comedy, politics and a disc jockey.

  • Great comments. Wonder what it is with many African Americans that as soon as they figure out how to get close to the brass ring, they find ways to self destruct before they reach out and grab it, either actively or passively. But they do self-destruct. Usually not if, but when.
