    • Susan Boyle - Britains Got Talent

    • This is the full version of Susan performing on Britains Got Talent. All I know is that there are two video's that have made me cry this year... Sam the Koala holding a fire fighters hand and drinking water and now I think my new hero and someone we all can learn from, Ms. Susan Boyle of Scotland! I gotta say she is someone who decided to live her dreams and WOW! *cheering for Susan*
    • talking about

    • someone recorded this while i was talking about the time on a set of a movie (not that anybody will understand because its in german). its kinda lame but remembering this small extra part i had in the movie still makes me feel high. so i hope that one will give me great spirit for 2009! (i want this feeling again. being there with all the people, all the actors all day long felt so much like "home".)
    • Barbara Niven "ACT as if! : How to Kickstart Yourself into Living the Law of Attraction"

    • Barbara Niven presents her powerful ACT as If! system that works with the Law of Attraction, but goes beyond the popular film The Secret because it uses acting tools and practical techniques that change your life now. “Most people work hard to do all the right things, trying to ‘vibrate’ with what they want,” says Niven, “but they end up ‘failing’ The Secret because they don’t know how to get out of their head and into their physical life.”In this talk, Niven presents the real secret, which is that you have to kickstart your belief system to get yourself started – and she shows how to do just that!  It’s what actors do each time we pick up a script,” she explains. “We consciously design and then physically believe that we’re our characters, inside and out. Through rehearsal, we begin to transform.” Barbara shares secrets on how to create the person and the life you want, using a format that simulates what a Hollywood screenwriter uses to write a script. Audiences participate in interactive exercises and improvisation, aiding in communication and team building.

    • Our house of horrors location for the movie Summer's Blood

    • Here is the house we used as our main location.  This is a disturbing movie, because we are a family of serial killers.  Do not go down in the basement!  :) The house actually belonged to a wonderful family who was very patient with us while we shot there.  (Can you imagine a hundred people coming in and taking over your house for a month?)  You can't see them in the photo, but they had sheep and goats and chickens and every other farm animal here, and each morning when we arrived on set, they would all walk out to greet us.  Very curious animals!  Or maybe they wanted to get in the movie?  One other very odd thing....for some reason the house was getting attacked by flies.  Literally.  We had fly traps hanging everywhere, and still could not stop them.  In several scenes AShley Green, Peter Mooney and I were supposed to be eating food, but as soon as they set it out, the flies would swarm all over it.  It actually works to have them in the scene, because the movie is supposed to be about decay.  I hope they keep the buzzing noise of the flies in the sound track.  I assure you it was very creepy sitting there listening to it happen live.
    • Barbara Niven and Ashley Greene on set of Summer's Blood

    • This is from the set of the movie I shot last August - Sept 08, called "Summer's Blood."  Ashley Greene is gorgeous in person, and is one of the nicest people I ever worked with - very professional and giving.  Really beautiful inside and out.  We had very long shoot days, and we used to ride back to the hotel in the same car together afterwards.  She'd always lean over and fall asleep on me.  :)  Since then "Twilight" opened to record box office, and her star meter rating has gone through the roof!  She truly deserves it.
    • "Summer's Blood" poster

    • I shot this film up in Ottawa, Canada in Aug/Sept. 2008.  It's a psychological horror film, unlike anything I've ever made.  We are a family of serial killers, and I play the very demented and alcoholic mother of the family.  Ashley Michelle Greene (of "Twilight") plays the victim we are stalking.  Stepjen McHattie ("Watchmen") plays my husband, and my son is played by Peter Mooney.
    • S.A.G. Walk of Fame Star Ceremony in Hollywood

    • S.A.G. (Screen Actors Guild) received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and I met Rick McKiddy (who I am hugging) and Ed Kelly (S.A.G. Detroit) outside during the ceremony.  Rick has become an amazing friend, and we've worked together since.

    • I spoke to over 2,000 students in Michigan in September 2008, on "Eating Disorders and Pressures to be Perfect".  It was an amazing experience!

    • Speaking and signing autographs for the United Autoworkers - GM Conference -- March 2008

    • I was privileged to give the keynote speech in March 2008 to the United Auto Workers - GM Human Resources Conference.  I talked about "Eating Disorders and Being Perfect"...something that corporations are coming to realize can be just as devastating to their employees as addictions like alcohol and drugs.  Thank you Rick McKiddy for putting it together!
