-_- Again? Me? Really...
Once again, I have to be the mature one. I hate being me, I care too much, I've always cared too much for other people. But don't you think people are being unfair? It's turning into a mob scene and I don't mean the song. People are pointing their fingers at a select of people and blaming them for all their problems. This has happened before. The witch hunts in Europe and North American in the 1400s to 1700s, the Holocaust where the Germans blamed the Jews for all their problems and now it's going to start. Some of us are trying to prevent it. The only way for this to end is for someone to stand up and say stop. So yes, I'm standing on a milk crate...I really don't want to, but I know this is wrong, so I'm going to. I gave this same speech to my republican friend and he hugged me and said. "I understand hippie, I understand. Now sit your butt down you're blocking the TV" Aren't friends great, especially when they're your polar opposite? FYI I call him GOP Boy.
So, you think all muslims are killers? Really? Hmm, funny. During the crusades, the Christians fought the muslims for their "holy land" and you don't think they spared everyone? I kinda doubt it. It's not the right thing or the wrong...it was just a tragic thing because both sides had their reasons. Today, both sides still have their reasons. They still see this as a holy war, we're trying to kill them off. We know that's not true, they don't know that and if you keep talking like that. Someone not so nice to going overhear and it will get out to the wrong people. You'll be partially responsble for more needless bloodshed. And you can't say all Muslims are bad. You haven't met them all. I've only met five in my life. Three girls and two guys. The girls for the most part never said much, they only spoke if you spoke to them directly, so when people made fun of them, they would shy away, if they made of them in front of me, they got hit, hard. I didn't protect the girls, I taught the bullies a lesson in tolerance.
The two guys, oh they were funny, short, but funny. Amir and Abid. I met Amir in middle school. He was a talented artist, but people knew he was born in Iraq, moved to the US when he was four. Never did anything wrong, he could write in Arabic. His US history sucked, so I helped him. He sat right behind me. Never complained, he knew I was from DC, but never asked why my family decided to move, it was obvious, it was October 2001, a lot of people moved away from the area never to return. One day, people started to call him Osama. I couldn't do anything, I was new, and he asked not to. I don't why he didn't want me to. I don't know if he just didn't want a girl to help or he was protecting him. I never chance to ask. Two days later, he was beaten serverely by another student. Math textbook, heavy. Eight stitches, a black eye and crack rib. His family moved and I haven't seen him since. Just because he was from Iraq and he was muslim. Abid was my boss at my first job, also short, we called Canada, because his parents were from Pakistan, but he was born in Canada. He was also very nice, we never bothered him, especially during the holidays, his holidays. Ramadon was interesting, he would crane his neck out during sunset. One day he asked why. He said during Ramadon, they fasted until sundown. Stupid co-worker walks by and says "You really should convert." If looks could kill...oh if looks could kill. I quickly stepped in and said "He didn't mean it, he's being himself." Abid ignored him and went back to looking at the sun. Than he would order pizza. Olives...he ordered plain olive pizza. Gross...but he never asked us to participate. He'd watched us eat at noon and encourage us to eat what we could before the customers rushed in. Another nice guy, he moved back to Canada when the theater closed down.
Do you get what I'm saying? Saying every muslim is bad. Saying that they should just hire Christian and Jewish Arabs is no different from me saying that every white protestant is bad. White protestants are more than likely KKK members. So we should do away with them and keep only the White Christians, Jewish and basically everything, but white protestants. Does that seem fair? Does that seem...like an un biased idea? I'm just saying. Have you ever taken the time to think things through completely before you speak? What next? Are we going to start alienating those Hindu women who wear saris? I'm just saying, don't down a path where the bridge will burn behind you.

Valkyrie, 4 months ago | FlagI believe that once every couple thousand years, there is a changein the climate. The shifting climate changed slowly as the land plates shifted (yes, I'm smart when it comes to the environment. I am a descendant of hippies/veterans). The plates are still shifting, so the ocean currents are affected, only slightly, but over the years, those inches have turned into feet, and the ocean currents that do affect weather change. By the way, I still haven't see Inconfident Truth all the way through.
And it's like 40 degrees right now, in FL, so yes I do believe in climate change. Five years ago, it was never this cold in November! It was always Dec., Jan, and Feb. Now it's cold Nov., Dec., Jan.. Feb. and half of March! So yes my numb hands and I believe. Me and the large polar bears they're finding dead. Before he died. Ted Kennedy signed a general letter urging us to protect the polar bears. That was practically a dying wish. I want you to say you don't believe in Global Warming to these! Go to Palin's Alaska and tell them before she shoots them all. Than offer them your explanation on why such strong swimming bears are being found drowned in waters in the north. Such innocent little wild animals...

geeman, 4 months ago | Flagdo you honestly believe our goals mean one damned thing to these dictators out there, , keep living in this lolipop world of the idea that all every one wants is peace, if you actually believe that, I will make you one helluva deal on some swampland in Arizona , take off your rose colored glasses and look at what the world is really like, it aint this country causing all the problems, it maybe some that they are jealous of the prosperity
, or that our presence in the world, "prevents" them from achieving their goals of expansion in th world, which is more like it, we have no goals to expand our borders, only helping others maintain theirs , get a grip on the REAL world it isn't all as ROSY AS IT LOOKS thru your glasses ! -
Valkyrie, 4 months ago | FlagIt should've stopped by now. It should've stopped after the Crusades! In 2000 years, I can't believe not one person stood up and said "stop this is pointless." He was probably stoned, stabbed or disembowled in some way, but that should've made him a martyr at the least. But one country's martyr is another persons war criminal, but that would mean one country's war criminal is another country's martyr...argh headache...headache!
It's one of those cases, they were being pushed in a direction they didn't want to be. We opened a door for negative propaganda by releasing the propaganda that only had our interests at heart, as a people, they should've seen the lies, but something over there happened...I don't know, the cold war ended when I was 2 or 3. What I know, I learned from history books and websites. As far as the books go, if Russia really, really want to blow us up, they would've with no hesitation, but there is something called retaliation, realistically, having that power would have made them a big fat target. Not to mention the environmental damage and who knows what else negative effects of multiple blasts that size.... There are theories of a nuclear winter not unlike an ice age. Russia may be cold, but that is the last thing they would want or need back than. Saying I don't know history, I'm from DC, the home of historians I know my history well from the First Explorers in Central America to the Lost Colony to the embalming fluid accidents of prohibition (yeah, some knuckleheads confused embalimg fluid for booze during prohibition more than once, big gross oops) to now.
Have you ever seen Full metal Alchemist, by the way? It's an anime I think you could relate to. And it seems oddly familiar...you should see it.
